Join us for our Summer Pruning Workshop. Learn practical skills that will enable you to maintain the health and productivity of your orchard trees. The training will cover early summer fruit thinning, mid-summer stone fruit pruning (e.g. plums), and late summer pome fruit pruning (e.g. apples). The day will include a recap on basic aspects of orchard design and a demo on bud grafting.
This workshop will be run by Joey Hughes of Merched y Berllan, specialists in all things orchards including: restoration of old orchards, development of new orchards, pruning, planting & picking.
The day will be split between two venues. The morning will be theory based at the Priory Hall, Abergavenny, where lunch will be provided. We will then travel to Tredilion Farm for a practical session in the afternoon. Outdoor workwear is required for this workshop. Tools will be provided for the practical session.
