Due to a high grass growth period, the red clover did not grow as expected, therefore the decision was made to use the 1st cut as grass silage and wait for regrowth in order to get a better 2nd cut. First cut silage was taken on the 4th June.

Seaweed Application
Based on a 4% concentration seaweed was applied to 2 plots as mentioned in the diagram above at a rate of 7.5 litres / ha / application on 20 June 2024.

Next Steps?
All plots will be visually assessed for clover content, and once ready for harvest and measure Dry Matter Yield and Clover Content using the cut and weigh method. Depending on grass growth, a second seaweed application is also scheduled to be applied.
