What to expect?

This comprehensive workshop will equip farmers with the skills to optimize pasture management, improve business resilience, and enhance profitability while reducing their carbon footprint.  Participants will learn how to design a grazing platform, measure, and manage pasture for optimal productivity with minimal labor. 

Who is this workshop for? 

Ideal for farmers looking to cut input costs through improved pasture utilization, and enhance farm efficiency with better grazing management, infrastructure, and decision-making tools. 

What does the workshop include?

  • Reduce input costs while maintaining production through improved grazing and pasture management. 
  • Learn to measure pasture and use pasture management software for informed decision-making.  
  • Master rising plate meters, grazing wedges, and seasonal rotation planners. 
  • Design a paddock grazing system using digital mapping tools. 
  • Calculate feed demand and create feed budgets for different stock classes. 
  • Understand best practices for electric fencing, including installation, materials, and cost considerations. 
  • Gain hands-on experience setting up and removing permanent and temporary electric fencing. 
  • Explore flexible water systems, including solar pumps, mobile troughs, and hydrants.

Sarah Morgan - Precision Grazing Ltd 

Sarah Morgan works closely with farmers to improve pasture utilization, optimize stocking rates, and enhance business resilience through better grazing strategies. With a hands-on approach, Sarah specializes in integrating practical grazing infrastructure, including fencing and water systems, to create efficient grazing platforms.  

James Daniel – Precision Grazing Ltd

Founder of Precision Grazing Ltd, James is an expert in regenerative grazing and farm business management. With extensive experience helping livestock farmers transition to low-input, high-output systems, he specializes in grazing infrastructure, soil health, and financial planning. James delivers practical, results-driven strategies to help farmers build profitable, resilient businesses.

12pm - Arrival and lunch 

1pm - Theory and practical tasks 

5pm - Finish & check-in to accommodation 

6pm - Dinner & guest speaker/farm visit and overnight stay 

Day 2

8:30am - Travel to farm 

9am - Practical sessions 

12pm - Finish & travel home 
 

Dates & Locations

Depending on demand, three separate MasterGrass workshops will be held across Wales (North / Mid / South) on the following dates, you only need to attend one. Locations will be confirmed after the applications have been assessed to locate as centrally as possible.
