Event overview
Workshop attendees will work through general legal, welfare, health and management practices for smallholders. Attendees will learn about the ‘five freedoms’ for welfare, biosecurity and biocontainment measures, zoonotic and notifiable diseases. They will then learn more specific detail for poultry, pigs, goats and alpacas on areas such as feeding and basic nutrition, housing and husbandry, common infectious diseases, routine procedures and more common species specific health issues.
This event is eligible for SFS UA4.
If a business partner attends, their participation hours will be recorded and can be counted towards your SFS UA4 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement.
