Mali Dafydd

Region: Llŷn and Snowdonia

Mali Dafydd is Farming Connect’s Development Officer for the Snowdonia and Llŷn areas. Brought up on her family’s dairy farm near Pwllheli, Mali lives in Bala but in her spare time she enjoys helping her parents and brother who specialise in spring calving cross breeds.

After graduating from the University of Wales Trinity St David, she returned home to work on the farm which she combined with research work for the producers of S4C’s Fferm Ffactor programme. By today, she’s given up the bright lights of television to focus on her role as a development officer, signposting businesses in her area to the wide range of events, training, technical and business support available through Farming Connect.

“My aim is to encourage farmers and foresters in my region to take advantage of all that’s available to them through Farming Connect, so I’ll be out and about at local marts and events promoting the various services ranging from our "Farm Data+" benchmarking programme to sector specific events and projects.

“There are so many ways in which businesses can develop and grow through Farming Connect because everything the programme delivers is focused on improving business and technical performance,” says Mali.

Mali also runs discussion groups for dairy and red meat for farmers in North Wales and a newly established Diversification discussion group who look specifically on Tourism option across North Wales.

Give Mali a call to discuss Farming Connect services, or speak to her at Bryncir Livestock Market, where she visits regularly.
