The UK Government is asking businesses, traders, and the public to give their opinion on how the customs system is working and what improvements they would like to see. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and HM Treasury have published a call for evidence to allow stakeholders to feedback on key areas.
This call for evidence invites respondents’ views on 3 areas:
- The customs intermediary sector.
- The Simplified Customs Declarations Process (SCDP).
- The Transit facilitation.
This evidence will support future changes to policy or processes to make it easier for traders to navigate the UK’s customs system.
HMRC and HM Treasury will host a webinar on 2 March 2022 at 3.30pm to introduce the Call for Evidence, give guidance about how to reply, and answer your questions. You can sign up for this event in advance.
The consultation closes 11.45pm on 2 May 2022.
