Diwrnod Shwmae Su’mae Day 2023

Shwmae Su’mae day takes place on 15 October annually and promotes the idea of starting every conversation with shwmae, su’mae or shwdi! The event aims to show that the Welsh language belongs to us all – fluent speakers, learners or those shy about their Welsh.

It’s an opportunity to have fun and share the language – in the shop, leisure centre, at work, with friends. In the past it has been celebrated by schools, restaurants, shops, businesses and radio stations.
