Open Your Eyes Week will be taking place the week commencing 17 November 2025.
This city-wide virtual event, hosted by Cardiff Commitment, connects Year 5 and Year 6 pupils with the diverse world of work, sparking their aspirations and future ambitions.
Employers from all sectors are encouraged to register their interest in taking part in this virtual week.
The benefits of Open Your Eyes Week are listed below:
- Provides pupils with a developed understanding of the connection between education, work and lifestyle.
- Increases pupil, school and parent/carer awareness of careers and regional skills whilst developing pupil's perception of their own potential place in the world of work.
- Challenges barriers associated with equality, inclusion and diversity whilst challenging social mobility.
- Learning is given a real life, authentic context to ensure that delivery is meaningful and links to the Curriculum for Wales.
Last year an incredible 82% of pupils said they learned something new, and 72% found the companies inspiring places to work.
