Safer Internet Day (SID) is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people and is celebrated in approximately 140 countries worldwide, SID 2021 takes place on 9 February 2021.
From cyberbullying to social networking, each year SID aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues and to reach out to children and young people, parents and carers, teachers, educators and social workers, as well as industry, decision makers and politicians, to encourage everyone to play their part in creating a better internet.
