Stop Food Waste Day 2024

food waste

Stop Food Waste Day is the largest single day of action in the fight against global food waste and takes place on Wednesday, 24 April 2024.

Food waste is a global issue with a wide variety of environmental, social and economic impacts.

The aims are to:

  • Prevent global food waste at the source by storing food optimally, making use of every edible part of the ingredient and planning meals ahead of time.
  • Inspire everyone – friends, colleagues, local communities - to reduce food waste and repurpose more.
  • Repurpose food by giving a second life to ingredients that most commonly go to waste, or by redistributing surplus food to your local community.
