Working in social care in Wales: guidance for foreign nationals

Social care is a rewarding career where you can make a valuable contribution to society.

We welcome applications from anyone, including:

  • overseas
  • refugees
  • displaced people from Ukraine

If you are looking for work and enjoy working with people, you may want to consider a career in social care.

You can make a real difference to people’s lives. You will build relationships with the people you care for. Just a smile or a conversation can make someone’s day.

If you live in Wales and would like to know more about working in social care, there is a free three-day online course available.

Your provider might also get support for employing you if you meet the criteria. This can be through the REACT+ scheme: ReAct+ | Business Wales Skills Gateway (gov.wales)
