Since moving to Wales, renowned New York Cordon Bleu Trained Chef Nichola Ferron wanted to set up a business from home that combined her love of culinary skills and her love of art, whilst providing flexibility for her family. After receiving support from Business Wales, Nichola realised this ambition and launched Cake Academy Wales, a new cake school in Neath.
Her Business Wales advisor discussed many aspects of the business with Nichola, including potential financial support that could go towards the development of gluten-free and vegan cakes and training opportunities for apprenticeships.
As Nichola is also passionate about creating and offering opportunities for people to develop their skills and build confidence, she will speak to a specialist HR advisor to introduce new employment contracts and develop a staff handbook.
