Success stories

Eva Vradiy

By the Wye

I am very grateful to receive financial support from Business Wales. This gives me an incentive to develop my business.

Yevgeniia Vradii’s held a successful career in Ukraine as a professional photographer since 2010.

Her circumstances dramatically changed when the war in Ukraine began, forcing Yevgeniia to sell her camera to cover the costs of travelling with her family to the UK.

After a few months of adapting to her new life and receiving support from the Welsh Government, Yevgeniia was ready to set up her own photography business in Wales.

As English isn’t Yevgeniia's first language, her business advisor ensured the Start-up and the Superfast Business Wales webinars were available in Ukrainian. A wide range of business support was provided, discussing taxes, marketing, building a client base, and the funding available.

This led to preparing and applying for the Barriers to Start-up Grant for 25-year-olds and over; her business advisor supported her with the application which required a business plan, cash flow forecast and supporting documentation.

The funding application was approved, allowing Yevgeniia to purchase a new camera and finally able to start her new business, Eva Vradiy, in Wales.
