Ioan Raileanu’s new business Wall Art For All, was supported by the Launch Acceleration Programme in collaboration with University of South Wales. The programme encourages ex-students to start their own business by offering a wide range of business start-up support via USW staff, Big Ideas Wales and Business Wales advisors.
His business advisor’s guidance and support enabled him to make the best use out of his professional qualification in in therapeutic arts and illustration.
Gaining in-depth support on starting and running a business, advising on business planning, marketing, managing the business' finances and specialist tendering advice, contributing towards Ioan starting his business.
Ioan now works as a freelance illustrator, painting commercial and domestic murals. He paints murals with groups of neurodiverse individuals and those with learning difficulties, at centres they attend. The groups are fully involved in the development of the murals, contributing ideas that Ioan can then incorporate into the finished design.
We’re delighted to hear Ioan has recently secured a contract in collaboration with University of South Wales, a contract to deliver a wellbeing mural workshop in Cardiff and Ebbw Vale.
He has also completed a workshop to promote the young carers I.D in the RCT whilst also working with a Charity Trust looking after vulnerable people in Wales, in applying for funding from the Arts Council to develop a large participatory mural with the individuals they look after.
