Emma Snell didn’t start Neurokind just to launch a business - she started it to change lives, beginning with her own family’s story.

As a mum to a neurodivergent daughter, Emma saw first-hand the gaps in support, the misunderstandings, and the quiet ways people can feel overlooked by systems not built for them. What she witnessed wasn’t just a personal challenge - it was a wider reality shared by countless individuals who felt unseen, unheard, and underserved.

Instead of accepting that reality, Emma chose to rewrite it.

Driven by lived experience and a deep belief that things could be better, she founded Neurokind Careers Ltd and Neurokind Inclusion CIC, delivering neuroinclusive, strengths-based employability and wellbeing programmes across South-West Wales. Her mission was simple but powerful: to create a safe, creative space where neurodivergent people are not only understood, but celebrated - and supported to thrive on their own terms.

Emma’s work challenges outdated, deficit-based approaches that focus on what people can’t do. Instead, Neurokind is built on recognising strengths, unlocking potential, and designing accessible pathways that reflect real lives. Every programme is shaped with intention - practical, creative, and rooted in genuine understanding.

Being her own boss has given Emma the freedom to do things differently. She’s built a business that aligns with her values and works with people, not systems. It’s also allowed her to work in a way that suits her own neurodivergent thinking - turning what might once have been seen as a barrier into a source of strength and innovation.

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Emma has had to navigate systems that weren’t designed with neurodivergent individuals in mind - experiencing many of the same barriers as the people she now supports. But instead of holding her back, those experiences became her fuel.

Today, Neurokind stands as a powerful example of what’s possible when business is built with purpose. Emma hasn’t just created a service - she’s created a movement towards understanding, inclusion, and real change.

Her story is a reminder that some of the most impactful ideas come from lived experience - and that by turning challenges into action, it’s possible to build something that truly makes a difference.
