Fran Hunt is a business mentor, lecturer and mental health professional whose work sits at the powerful intersection of entrepreneurship and wellbeing. She is the founder of Enaid Healing, a practice that offers one-to-one support, community events and specialist training focused on trauma, PTSD and mental health, helping individuals and professionals alike to thrive, not just survive.
Fran’s entrepreneurial journey began early. She stepped into self-employment at just 16 as a freelancer, and by the age of 21 she was running her own limited company within the film, theatre and television industries. That early experience of building a business shaped her understanding of independence, creativity and resilience, and laid the foundations for a career that would later evolve in a new direction.
After transitioning into clinical work, Fran recognised a gap where business and mental health should meet. Founding Enaid Healing allowed her to bring those two worlds together. She strongly believes that business success and personal wellbeing are not separate paths, but deeply connected, and her work reflects that belief at every level. Whether supporting individuals directly or training healthcare professionals, Fran’s focus is on sustainable success that honours the whole person.
Alongside running her business, Fran has spent over a decade as a Big Ideas Wales Role Model, inspiring others with her honest, grounded approach to entrepreneurship. She also spent four years as a Business Mentor at Cardiff Metropolitan University, supporting students and early-stage founders, before choosing to focus fully on Enaid Healing and her wider impact.
Fran brings particular expertise in intellectual property and freelancing, and she is deeply committed to supporting disabled entrepreneurs and those navigating additional barriers to self-employment. Her work is informed not only by professional experience, but by empathy, lived understanding and a strong sense of social responsibility.
Recognition for Fran’s contribution to entrepreneurship includes being a Welsh Women in Business Finalist in 2023, as well as being a founding member of Be The Spark. Yet for Fran, success isn’t just about awards or milestones - it’s about building a business that aligns with your values, your health and your life.
Fran’s message to aspiring entrepreneurs is clear and reassuring:
no matter where you start, and no matter your circumstances, it is possible to build a business that supports both your ambitions and your wellbeing. With the right support, honesty and self-belief, business can be a tool for healing, empowerment and long‑term fulfilment.
