UNITE Agile Piloting Opportunity
What is the UNITE programme
UNITE is a major pan-European programme aiming to advance digital health solutions by bringing together key stakeholders across various European regions.
To advance its mission and achieve its objectives, the UNITE initiative uses the Agile Piloting programme to procure short-term, real-world experiments across the UNITE regions.
What is an Agile Pilot
The programme enables startups, scaleups, and other research and innovation organisations in the UNITE regions to validate digital health solutions aligned with the four UNITE Innovation Challenges:
- Deep-tech Innovations to Secure equal health for the entire population
- Digital Solutions advancing more personalised and human-centric remote care
- Advancing European Health Data Spaces
- Digital innovations to battle the health workforce crisis
Who can apply
The Agile Piloting programme aims to obtain pilot service offers from suppliers in the UNITE regions, including startups, SMEs, and other research and innovation institutions, that have proven technologies and are ready to adapt and validate their solutions at designated experimentation facilities.
The proposed pilots should last between 1-3 weeks.
Each pilot must include:
- Planning & adaptation of the solution to local needs
- Implementation in a designated regional Living Lab or Testbed*
- Measurement & reporting, including a final Pilot Report detailing results and lessons learned.
- Compliance with data protection, information security, and ethical standards, supported by all required documentation.
*Each pilot application must specify the intended regional Living Lab or Testbed, including the region in which the selected site is located.

UNITE Open Call 2
The UNITE Open Call 2 is now open.
UNITE is a Horizon Europe co-funded programme that brings together regions across Europe to build a borderless digital health innovation ecosystem. Welsh organisations can collaborate with European partners to develop, test and scale innovative digital health solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges.
The call is open from 10 September 2026 to 10 December 2026, with successful projects running from 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2028. A total call budget of €6 million is available, with funding of up to €1 million per project.
Successful projects will need to develop solutions that support:
- Deep-tech innovations to secure equal health for the entire population
- Digital innovations to tackle the health workforce crisis

VInnovate 2026 Funding Call
The VInnovate 2026 Call is now closed to new applications. The deadline for full proposal submission is October 10, 2026, 23:59 CET.
VInnovate 2026 is a funding model supported by the Vanguard Initiative, whih is a collaborative programme supporting industrial modernisation and innovation through industry-led and cross-regional coopreation.
