Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how businesses across Wales innovate, compete, and grow.

From helping start-ups adopt digital tools, to supporting established companies streamline operations, AI offers practical ways to boost productivity, improve decision-making, and unlock new opportunities.

To help businesses understand and adopt AI with confidence, Business Wales is developing an AI awareness and adoption support programme for micro and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). The aim of the programme is to help Welsh SMEs, entrepreneurs and microbusinesses to integrate AI into their business practices ethically and effectively, enhancing productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.

The support is designed to help businesses build confidence, identify practical use cases, and take informed steps towards responsible AI adoption. We will shortly be able to provide further information on the early awareness sessions and how to register.

What is AI?

AI mimics human intelligence in machines. It enables them to learn, solve problems, perceive, and make decisions based on data analysis. However, AI is not magic, it doesn't replace humans. AI should amplify human potential.

AI technologies are incredibly powerful and potentially transformative but also come with risks. That’s why it’s important we understand them better, including their limitations, so the technologies are used in the right ways.
