From a young age, the founder of EQMedia was inspired by the idea of running a business. Long before picking up a camera, they grew up hearing stories about their grandad’s shop in Prestatyn - stories filled with independence, hard work and pride in building something of your own. Those conversations planted an early belief: that it was possible to turn passion into purpose.

As creativity became a bigger part of their life, online creators such as Casey Neistat and DevinSuperTramp showed what was possible. They demonstrated that powerful storytelling doesn’t need a huge budget - just imagination, consistency and courage. Seeing creators build careers from creativity proved that bold ideas, when shared well, can reach far beyond borders.

That belief became reality at just 14 years old. Armed with a camera, basic editing tools and plenty of determination, EQMedia was born. The early days weren’t about profit - they were about learning. Offering services for free helped build trust with local businesses and, more importantly, create a portfolio that opened doors.  What started in North Wales quickly grew, proving that age and location don’t limit ambition.

Today, EQMedia works with a wide range of fantastic clients across the UK. Being their own boss has given the freedom to follow a clear creative vision, choose projects that spark excitement, and constantly experiment with new ideas. Building meaningful relationships and seeing creativity directly drive success has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

Like many businesses, EQMedia faced real challenges during the Covid-19 lockdown. With reduced access to locations and fewer in‑person projects, the uncertainty was testing. However, the loyalty and support of long‑term clients provided stability during a difficult time and reinforced the value of strong relationships - something EQMedia continues to prioritise today.

EQMedia’s story is proof that with passion, creativity and persistence, young people can build inspiring businesses - right from their own communities.
