Sometimes the best business ideas come from life’s most personal moments. For this entrepreneur, everything changed with the arrival of his son.
As a new parent, he found himself searching for baby products that felt different—more thoughtful, more beautiful, and gentler than what was widely available. But what he discovered was a gap. The products he wanted simply didn’t exist in the way he imagined them. That moment sparked something powerful.
Inspired by his son, and guided by a love of organic fabrics, handmade quality and meaningful design, he set out to create something better. He wanted products that weren’t just practical, but truly special—items that parents could treasure, made with care and intention, and proudly produced in Wales.
In 2014, Babi Bw was born.
What started as a personal need quickly grew into a purpose-driven brand focused on handmade, organic babywear and accessories. Every piece reflects his commitment to quality, sustainability and thoughtful design—crafted using carefully sourced fabrics and small-batch production methods. It’s not just about creating products, but about creating something that feels personal, gentle and enduring for families.
Being his own boss has given him the freedom to bring his ideas to life in a way that stays true to his values. He has been able to shape every aspect of the business—from design to production—ensuring that each product reflects his creativity, standards and passion. For him, the most rewarding part is knowing that what he creates genuinely means something, both to him and to the families who choose his brand.
The journey hasn’t always been easy. Building a handmade brand in a market dominated by low-cost, mass-produced alternatives has been a significant challenge. Staying committed to quality, sustainability and small-batch production requires resilience and determination—especially when working with limited resources. Along the way, he has also had to balance the creative side of his work with the realities of running a business, from sales and marketing to adapting the brand so it can grow while still holding onto its identity.
Through it all, he has continued to evolve—learning, adapting and finding ways to reach a wider audience without losing the heart of what makes his business unique.
Alongside running his own brand, he now shares his knowledge and experience with others. His areas of expertise include business development, mentoring, sales and marketing, brand building and customer engagement, as well as supporting people into self-employment. He is passionate about helping others build confidence, develop skills and create their own opportunities.
His story is a powerful example of how a simple idea—rooted in care, creativity and personal experience—can grow into something meaningful. It shows that you don’t need everything figured out to begin. Sometimes, all it takes is a spark of inspiration, a clear sense of purpose, and the courage to create something that truly matters.
