My training, coaching and inspirational speaking business ‘Aspiration Station’ was launched in March 2022. I’m a solopreneur offering training programs, coaching, mentoring sessions or talks for meetings and events. I specialise in elite time management, productivity, and work life balance, helping busy professionals save five hours a week and reduce stress.
I was a founder member and part of the leadership team at The Admiral Group, with a department of seventy staff, fourteen external supplier contracts and various projects to manage.
It was a busy role which I enjoyed, but my passion has always been learning and development. Simply put, I’m at my best when I am helping others thrive. While I was adapting to managing a large department and financial controls from home during the pandemic, I had a significant health scare. I decided after my surgery, treatment and recovery, I would not look back and I would do what I enjoy most for my work.
Every person I coached or trained in Admiral, inspired me because I saw the positive impact I had not only on their work but their family life, health, and well-being. Adding to that, my mother is a strong, resilient character who raised me to be positive, hardworking, helpful and to follow my dreams.
Launching and managing a business as a sole trader was a challenge, but I quickly learnt new skills to help my business thrive.
The best thing was joining professional networking groups, where members shared insights and connections to help me save money and time. One of the biggest challenges is that you must do everything to run the business and you are ‘the product.’ When I’m out training, I need to do bookings, invoices, calls, emails and update my own knowledge, after the training is complete. As a time management expert, I use the techniques I teach my clients which make me super-efficient.
For me it is the flexibility. I choose what I do, who I work with and when. I don’t need permission to change my working hours or days. I can be there for family and friends and practice self-care, as well as work hard enough to earn a good salary.
The key benefit of running my training and coaching business is that I’m doing work I love, as well as learning new things every day.
