I was working for a large American owned advertising agency McCann Erickson and running their Wales company. Due to loss of large international client, they were planning to merger Cardiff and Bristol agencies with loss of jobs and potentially mine. I decided to arrange a management buy out to save jobs and my own which was agreed
There was not a particular person who inspired me just the fact that I had grown the agency from being a small one to having 25 staff and we had won some major local clients with no help from the US based Head office
Many problems including loss of clients, moving office, staff issues, even liquidation
Ability to make decisions on your own often having taken advice from the experts in their fields. Also seeing how many of the students joining my businesses have progressed in their careers having given them their first job
