We’re Tremio Ltd. A family run videography business based in Mid Wales. We film everything from corporate marketing videos, weddings, tourism and training films and much more!
We started the business as a drone-only business offering various drone services however as the market became saturated we evolved the business and started utilizing ground video. This has now become our bread and butter with drone services equating to 20% of the business.
Why did I start the business? It seemed like the right time to try it. I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my 9-5 and thought, why not?
Apart from the obvious work life balance, I always say that the best thing about being your own boss is also the worse thing. Responsibility. If you’re responsible for creating a fantastic piece of work from scratch and the customer is happy and they recommend you to a friend etc then it’s the best feeling. However, if something goes wrong and you have a customer who is unhappy and it’s your responsibility then its also the worse feeling!
Everyday is a learning day. When you’re running your own business you need to be adept in all facets, accountancy, SEO, marketing, website design, never mind trying to learn and improve your actual trade!
Also, learning to not wear your heart on your sleeve. Learning that there is such a thing as constructive criticism and if people don’t quite like the content you’ve put together. Then that’s fine too!
Creatively there are a number of people that inspire me. Being a ‘one man gang’ and in the creative business you have to wear a lot of hats and I’m always inspired by those who can wear those hats successfully. I’m also inspired by those people that can live a good work-life balance. I’m a big believer that if your working till 3am and sacrificing time with your family/loved ones for work then you’re doing something wrong.
