Level 2 award in Animal Transport by road short journey

If you are involved in the transportation of animals by road on short journeys (over 65km and up to 8 hours duration) this qualification will ensure you meet the requirement for a Certificate of Competence outlined in the Council Regulation (EC) No1/2005 on the Protection of Animals During Transport and the Welfare of Animals
(Transport) Order 2006.

Qualification Overview: The qualification is species specific :
•    Cattle & sheep
•    Sheep
•    Cattle
•    Poultry
•    Game Birds
•    Pigs
•    Horses
•    Goats
The course covers the legal requirements, journey planning, vehicle suitability, fitness to travel, causes and signs of stress in animals, space allowances, stocking densities, handling and animal welfare in transit and post journey requirements.

What you need to do: Once you have the information necessary you will able to undertake  a multiple choice computer based test (e-volve) exam.
Upon successful completion you will be awarded a certificate of competence and dependant upon the awarding body a skills card.
