Esyllt Lois Hughes Esyllt Lois Hughes is a 17-year-old agriculture student from Moelfre, Ynys Môn, who has just completed Level 2 in Agriculture at Coleg Glynllifon and will be going on to do Level 3 in September. Through her studies, she has gained practical experience in livestock management, animal welfare, machinery operation and general farm maintenance, while developing confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills.  

Raised on a family sheep and beef farm, Esyllt Lois Hughes has grown up around livestock and has a strong interest in animal welfare and stock management. Alongside her studies, she has built further hands-on experience through work at Tyddyn Isaf caravan park, where she works with pedigree Welsh Black cattle, as well as placements at Parciau Home Farm and Red House, gaining experience in livestock care, lambing, feeding, dosing, foot trimming and preparing stock for market. She has also recently started relief milking at Yr Orsedd, Llanddona.  

Esyllt Lois Hughes is a fluent Welsh speaker, an active member of Young Farmers and enjoys singing as part of a choir. Looking ahead, she hopes to build a successful career within Welsh agriculture, with ambitions to help manage a progressive farming business that combines strong livestock production with sustainable and efficient practices. Through the Junior Academy, she is keen to gain knowledge, confidence, leadership skills and new experiences that will help her contribute to her family farm and the wider farming community.
