Although no data was collected regarding DLWGs in 2023, Chris noted that he has been impressed by the condition gained by the lambs in the short time they grazed plot A, and lambs grazing Plot B also improved condition quickly compared to permanent pasture.
The field was then rested over the housing period between January and April 2024 before being grazed by ewes and lambs at turn-out, again carefully leaving higher residuals due to soggy ground conditions. No concentrates were fed to ewes after turn-out; a significant cost saving for Awel y Grug.
