The Wales Farm Safety Partnership (WFSP) is calling on farmers Across Wales to step forward and become Farm Safety Ambassadors, helping to promote safer working practices and reduce the number of life-changing incidents on farms.
The WFSP brings together respected voices from within the agricultural community to share real-life experiences, raise awareness, and encourage positive behaviour change across the industry.
Farming continues to be one of the most dangerous industries in the UK, and the role of ambassadors is crucial in reaching fellow farmers with clear, practical messages that can make a difference on the ground.
Those selected as ambassadors will support campaigns, attend events, and share their own stories to help highlight the importance of farm safety and wellbeing.
“As a current Farm Safety Ambassador, I’ve seen first-hand the value of farmers speaking openly with other farmers about the everyday risks we face. It isn’t about lecturing people — it’s about sharing real experiences, encouraging small changes and helping to protect lives, families and the future of our farms,” said Alun Elidyr.
Sian Tandy, Head of Communications for Farming Connect, added: “We know that the most powerful messages come from within the industry itself. This is an opportunity for individuals who care about their community to help influence change, support others and make a lasting impact on farm safety across Wales.”
The WFSP is keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about improving safety standards, willing to share their experiences, and able to engage with others across the sector.
