Event overview
Workshop attendees will be provided with the global context of AMR and the interaction with antibiotic use in farming. A basic understanding of how resistance develops and spreads is given to increase acceptance of why antibiotic use must be reduced. The areas each livestock sector has targeted are shared. Specific examples show how measures to reduce the need for antibiotics help improve animal health and productivity – a “prevention is better than cure” message.
