Disease Management in Cattle through Vaccination

Workshop attendees will work through understanding the benefit to knowing herd disease status and the role vaccination plays in protecting a herd as part of biosecurity measures. They will learn about the immune system and how vaccines work, the different types of vaccines, vaccine protocols, how to store and administer vaccines.

Event overview

 

Workshop attendees will work through understanding the benefit to knowing herd disease status and the role vaccination plays in protecting a herd as part of biosecurity measures. They will learn about the immune system and how vaccines work, the different types of vaccines, vaccine protocols, how to store and administer vaccines.  The module then looks at a selection of diseases that can be vaccinated against, attendees will have a brief introduction to those diseases and the role vaccination can play in the control of those diseases in a herd.
