Chirk, Wrexham
Thomas Graham Gaskin is based near Chirk, Wrexham, where he is currently studying Level 3 Agriculture at Coleg Llysfasi and has recently completed his first year. Alongside his studies, Thomas works part-time on the family farm, gaining valuable hands-on experience across all aspects of day-to-day farm operations.
A fourth-generation farmer, Thomas has been immersed in agriculture from a young age, working across both his family’s dairy enterprise and extended family farms. The home farm runs a pedigree Holstein herd, rearing replacements and managing livestock under varying conditions, which has helped him develop strong practical skills in livestock management, machinery use and crop work.
Thomas is an active member of Llangollen Young Farmers Club, where he regularly takes part in competitions including public speaking, stock judging and woodwork, and enjoys mentoring younger members. His involvement in both Young Farmers and cadets has helped him build confidence, leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
Looking ahead, Thomas aims to continue developing the family farm business by introducing new ideas and improvements, ensuring it remains progressive and sustainable. Through the Junior Academy, he is keen to broaden his knowledge, learn from different farming systems and build connections across the agricultural industry.
