Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire
Geraint George is a farm worker based on a family-run beef and arable farm near Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire. Working within the family business, Geraint carries out a wide range of responsibilities including feeding cattle, crop work, machinery operation, livestock handling, fencing and general farm maintenance, alongside supporting business administration and holiday accommodation on the farm.
Having grown up on a 475-acre farm focused on finishing store cattle, Geraint has developed strong practical skills and a clear understanding of livestock systems from an early age.
Looking ahead, Geraint aims to take over the family farm and further develop the business to improve long-term resilience. A key focus is increasing sheep numbers to reduce reliance on bought-in cattle, helping to manage ongoing TB challenges while maintaining stock levels. There is also a strong interest in implementing rotational grazing to improve grassland management, animal health and overall efficiency.
Through the Agri Academy, Geraint is keen to build confidence, learn from others in similar positions and gain new ideas to support the future development of the business.
