Harri Whittingham

Ruthin, Denbighshire

Harri Whittingham Harri Whittingham is a self-employed farmer and contractor based at Wern Fawr Farm near Ruthin in Denbighshire, where he works alongside his father on the family beef and sheep enterprise. His role includes livestock management, grassland management and broader farm operations, alongside running a successful agricultural contracting business.

In addition to the family farm, Harri has developed a specialist business focused on purchasing and finishing store lambs, managing significant numbers each year across owned and rented land. His approach includes utilising grazing opportunities on both dairy and arable farms, demonstrating a flexible and entrepreneurial approach to livestock production.

Harri also undertakes contracting work including slurry and silage operations, providing a consistent income stream alongside more variable livestock enterprises.

Looking ahead, Harri’s ambition is to take over the family farm and continue expanding both the sheep and cattle enterprises. He is also exploring further diversification opportunities to strengthen business resilience and generate additional income streams.

Through the Agri Academy, he is keen to develop his business, gain fresh ideas and continue building a progressive and sustainable farming enterprise.
