Owain Rhys Hughes is the Farming Connect Development Officer (temporary) for Llŷn and Eryri, covering Mali Dafydd's maternity period.
Originally from Anglesey, Owain has settled with his young family in Dinmael, near Corwen for many years and is the owner of a beef farm. Owain farms in partnership with his wife and runs a herd of breeding cows, the majority of which are pure Welsh black cattle.
Owain has worked within the agricultural sector since leaving Coleg Glynllifon where he completed a Diploma in Agriculture. Owain was an enthusiastic member of the Young Farmers and Llangefni Rugby Club when he was younger and now volunteers as a coach for Gwylliaid Meirionnydd’s under 8 team.
In his previous job, he tested TB for a veterinary practice in Dolgellau where he advised and supported farmers daily. In his spare time, he is a member of Llangwm Male Voice Choir and enjoys spending time with his family.
