Calf scour (diarrhoea) is the most common disease in pre-weaned calves, accounting for 50% of deaths. 

Scour can result in high economic losses, but can be controlled and prevented. 

Scour rates are often underestimated on farms, with up to 80% of calves scouring at some point. However, far fewer will have received a treatment that is recorded.
