Aluminium phosphide is a dangerous compound. Used incorrectly, it can be hazardous to the health and safety of users, the general public and non-target animals. This course will provide you with a full working knowledge of the relevant commercial products and application equipment. It is ideal for anyone using aluminium phosphide in a commercial environment, such as pest control operatives, farmers, gamekeepers and greenkeepers. This course will cover key legislative and safety issues. Storage, transportation, handling, and disposal will also be covered. Course sessions will include: Legislation, safety, exposure prevention and first aid, environment and wildlife, label, product container, storage and transportation, application equipment, handling and disposal of excess pesticide and spillages and record keeping.

Please note that the outline, duration and image for each course are a guide only. Please contact the training provider for more information.

Please note: Recent changes in legislation require learners who complete this course to own the relevant equipment before they can then use aluminium phosphide. This includes: application equipment, PPE (personal protective equipment) and isolation and monitoring equipment which includes a gas monitor.

From 1st September 2023, all applicants must complete the following mandatory e-learning module before applying for funding – Mandatory Unit: Pesticide Safety
