Space in Wales – opportunities for businesses

Whatever business you are in, the fast-growing Space sector and the Space-enabled economy could provide you with new opportunities.

The global space economy market is valued at between £155 billion and £190 billion, and it is estimated to grow to £400 billion by 2030. The UK space sector has trebled in size in real terms since 2000 with a turnover of £14.8 billion, the UK currently captures 5.1% of the global market and has ambition to reach 10%.

Welsh Government have been awarded a grant by the UK Space Agency to develop a new National Space Strategy for Wales. Aerospace Wales will be working with the Welsh Government to deliver this project.

One of the key aims is to help promote your business whether you are in the supply chain of the industry itself or use space data and capability to support you in the delivery of your products and services. The latter can include virtually any sector including:

  • transportation
  • retail
  • insurance
  • medical
  • agriculture
  • hospitality
  • tourism

If you have aspirations to get involved in Space and the Space-enabled economy Aerospace Wales would like to hear from you. Please complete the survey by Monday 11 January 2021 and email to rachael@aerospacewales.aero please copy in lucy@ellisonmarketing.co.uk

Please complete the questionnaire to the best of your ability and if any further details are needed you will be contacted. Don’t worry if you can’t answer every question. Fill in what you can and use the free format box to add any additional information you think is relevant.

At the end of the project a Capability Matrix of the Space activity in Wales will be produced and used for promotional material, it will be available electronically and on the Aerospace Wales website.
