Innovation is ‘a new idea; a creative thought; a new imagination’. It can also be viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing community needs.
Rural requirements are no different. Rural Innovation can include, but are not exhaustive, prosperity and wellbeing; sustainable and resilient businesses and communities; adding value to businesses and communities; enhancing the environment; and climate change challenges.
The Smart Villages and EIP pages include case studies for projects that show innovative ideas.
