The Wales Rural Network (WRN), part of the Welsh Government Rural Affairs Division, encourages and promotes rural development by sharing information, news, ideas and good practice.

What we do

The Wales Rural Network (WRN) encourages and promotes rural development by sharing information, news, ideas and good practice. 

What are our aims?

The aims of the Wales Rural Network are to:

  • Get more people from rural communities, businesses and the wider public involved in policy developments that affect them
  • Help improve the delivery of the Sustainable Land Management Programme and wider agricultural schemes
  • Inform farmers, rural businesses and communities about policy and funding opportunities including future agricultural policy development
  • Encourage innovation in agriculture, food production, forestry and rural areas including community development

Engagement

Through networking, the Wales Network helps drive and steer all aspects of the implementation of the Sustainable Land Management by: 

  • involving people interested in agriculture, forestry and rural areas across Wales;  
  • providing opportunities for Welsh peer-to-peer networking and exchange; 
  • sharing information, including good practices and funding opportunities; 
  • improving skills;  
  • encouraging the exchange of knowledge; 
  • Supporting the uptake of innovations in agriculture;
