Join us at  Bremenda  Isaf for a practical based  workshop  for holdings of all sizes exploring the theory and practice of plant raising, modules and bare roots  (peg plants) .  Hear  from  Iain Tolhurst about  how  to develop  this most crucial of horticultural skills.  Having gained an MBE for his services to horticulture, Iain has over 40 years’ experience of organic market gardening at his site on the Hardwick Estate in Oxfordshire.   

You may be  expanding how many plants you would like to grow , or you would  like more control of your system .   You may f eel the need to reduce your carbon footprint or simply  wish  to nurture your future food crops from the very start .   C ome along and share  your  experiences with  other  growers  scaling up their vegetable production.  

Learning Objectives  

  • Understand the nutrition requirements of vegetable crops.  

  • Learn the differences between module and  peg plant (bare root)  growing systems and their pros and cons.  

  • Gain knowledge of equipment and facilities for propagation and raising of vegetable crops.  

Workshop, what  to  expect from a plant compost/substrate .  A chance to work in groups to  determine  the ideal plant medium.
