Efa Gwilym Williams is a 19-year-old from Llansannan, Conwy, who has recently completed her studies at Coleg Glynllifon and is now combining part-time work with practical experience on her family’s beef and sheep farm. Growing up in a multi-generational farming environment, she has developed a strong understanding of livestock systems alongside exposure to farm diversification through holiday accommodation, egg production and honey sales.
Efa has built a broad range of practical and professional experience, including lambing on larger-scale sheep units, milking on dairy farms, and working independently to collect soil samples and produce land reports. Her work across customer-facing roles, including food sales at major agricultural events and hospitality settings, has also strengthened her communication and people skills.
An active member of the Young Farmers, Efa is committed to supporting her local community and engaging with the wider agricultural sector. She has a strong interest in diversification and developing income streams alongside core farming activities.
Looking ahead, Efa plans to establish her own self-employed business alongside farming, with ambitions to run her own beef and sheep enterprise in the future. Through the Junior Academy, she is keen to explore new ideas, develop her skills and gain insights that will help shape a sustainable and successful career in agriculture.
