Llanaelhaearn, Gwynedd
Ffion Erin Owen, from Chwilog, near Pwllheli, has spent her childhood on the family farm in Llanaelhaearn. She has a strong passion for livestock and rural life. Having recently completed her GCSE examinations, she is preparing to continue her education at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, while gaining further experience working both locally and on the farm.
Ffion has developed practical farming skills from an early age, working with sheep, cattle and horses, and managing her own flock of Dutch Spotted sheep. Alongside farm work, she has built experience in customer-facing roles through employment in a local café and previous work in a farm visitor attraction, developing communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
An active member of the Young Farmers, Ffion has taken part in a wide range of competitions, including public speaking and stock judging, achieving success at local level. She is also heavily involved in community activities, regularly volunteering at events and supporting local initiatives.
Looking ahead, Ffion is keen to pursue a career within the agricultural sector, with a particular interest in supporting farmers through advisory or professional roles. Through the Junior Academy, she hopes to broaden her knowledge, gain new experiences and develop a clearer pathway into the industry while continuing to build on her strong farming background.
