Conwy Valley, Llanrwst
Sion Arfon Roberts is based in the Conwy Valley, near Llanrwst, where he works alongside his father and brother on the family farm, combining livestock production with agricultural contracting work. The business focuses on rearing calves to sell as stores or as fatstock, alongside a wide range of contracting, plant hire and groundworks.
Through his work at home, Sion has developed practical experience in livestock management, feeding systems and the day-to-day running of a mixed farming and contracting enterprise. He is particularly interested in the progression of stock and takes pride in seeing animals develop and perform.
Sion is an active and committed member of Llanrwst Young Farmers Club, where he has held leadership roles including Chairman and Vice-chairman. He has represented his County in public speaking and stock judging competitions, including competing at national level, helping to build confidence, communication skills and industry knowledge.
Looking ahead, Sion hopes to take on the farm and expand the livestock side and continue to develop his contracting business alongside his brother. Through the Junior Academy, he is keen to meet like-minded individuals, exchange ideas and gain new insights from different farming systems both in Wales and further afield.
