  • Whether you're an established grower, considering diversification or simply looking for fresh ideas to strengthen your business, Phil Handley believes Agrisgôp offers the ideal environment to explore opportunities and turn ideas into action.

  • A qualified horticulturist with more than 20 years' experience, Phil combines practical expertise in growing fruit and vegetables with a proven track record of developing successful rural enterprises. Throughout his career, he has focused on identifying new income streams, adding value to farm resources and helping businesses adapt to changing markets and environmental challenges.

  • Having built his own diversified businesses, Phil understands the realities of turning an idea into a profitable venture. From successful pick-your-own enterprises to production of added-value products including chutneys, jams and syrups, alongside on-farm workshops and events, he has consistently looked for ways to maximise the potential of farm assets.

  • As a Farming Connect horticulture mentor, Phil has supported growers and farming businesses to overcome challenges, develop practical solutions and access specialist expertise. Working with Farming Connect, Cywain, ADAS and Food Centre Wales, he has built an extensive network across the Welsh food and farming sectors.

  • He believes one of Agrisgôp's greatest strengths is connecting members with the right people at the right time.

“Having previously been an Agrisgôp member myself, I know how valuable the programme's action learning approach can be. Many people arrive with little more than the seed of an idea, but discussing opportunities in a supportive, confidential group inspires them to take the next step.”

  • You don't need a fully developed business plan. If you're curious about diversification, adding value or developing a new enterprise, Phil will help you explore ideas, learn from expert speakers, visit successful businesses and benefit from the shared experiences of the group.

  • Friendly, approachable and an experienced facilitator and trainer, Phil encourages anyone who may feel hesitant about joining. Whether your ambition is to diversify, improve an existing enterprise or simply explore new possibilities, Agrisgôp could provide the springboard you need.
