Are you eager to learn and to adopt the most up to date fertility management techniques to improve cow wellbeing, performance and increase profitability?

The workshop will run as two evening webinars (13 and 15 February 2023) and one day on-farm practical (1 March 2023) at Gelli Aur College.

The workshop will cover the following objectives:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of cows’ fertility and the important factors to getting them in-calf.
  • Identify the right fertility parameters to measure and monitor for your herd type and management system.
  • Develop a plan to improve your herd’s fertility performance, based on your own system, data and objectives.
  • Assist in the practicalities which are relevant to your own farm, including:
    • Nutritional management, including body condition scoring
    • Heat detection methods
    • Semen handling and AI timing
    • Stress-free handling and maximising conception
    • Best protocols pre-breeding and for pregnancy detection
    • Getting the most out of vet fertility visits.
