The Wood LAB Pren project will deal with many aspects of the timber supply chain in Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent as well as the wider South Wales region. The project will aim to Inspire, Educate & Facilitate through a more collaborative working approach among foresters, processors, manufacturers and designers. Its primary objective is to increase the use and value of locally grown timber.

Through a design and innovation led approach, its aim is to facilitate the development of new products, processes and approaches and in doing so add value to the timber at each stage of the supply chain.

1. The two main areas of the project are:- Identifying barriers in the local timber supply chain and develop solutions to overcome these problems

2. Research potential new markets and develop innovative methods of using the local timber and facilitate product development.
