Arborculture – Inaccessible woodland equipment

ARBORCULTURE will invest in light weight (8 tonne) excavator and stroke harvesting head (plus low loader and winch).  The total cost of equipment/installation is £90,000.

Due to the size and low impact nature of the equipment, ARBORCULTURE will be able to target woodland that is currently unmanaged due to economic of accessibility reasons.

Benefits to the woodland:

  • thinning,
  • removing non-native species,
  • increasing extracted wood quality,
  • increasing extracted wood value,
  • increasing the value of the woodland,
  • improving the biodiversity
