CAT Toolkit (Community Asset Transfer)

In 2016, Reach held networking events for local sporting and community groups with the aim of finding out the issues that groups are facing. One issue explored was Community Asset Transfers. This is where publicly-owned assets are transferred into the long-term ownership and management of local groups.

Working in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council Regeneration Service, the LAG commissioned the Wales Co-operative Centre to undertake research on its behalf into the challenges faced by third sector organisations when considering taking responsibility for publicly owned assets. This research was developed into a bespoke toolkit to help rural community based organisations to navigate the process.
