Cheese co-op

Find out if there is a demand for a community dairy that would enable cheese producers to increase the amount they produce. It will also be an opportunity for dairy producers to diversify by venturing and experimenting the production of their own artisan cheeses.

There are already some small-scale cheese producers in Gwynedd. They often produce in their kitchens on the farm and experimenting with the production of cheese. It is difficult for them to grow and create a business from the product without an appropriate location to be able to produce more cheese at a larger scale.

The aim of the research is to try to find out if there is a demand for a place where there is specialist equipment for milk producers to be able to experiment in the production of cheese. It will also be an opportunity for those who already produce a little cheese to grow their business by enabling them to produce more.
