Energy Wizard

This project seeks to trial two approaches to reducing electricity use in the home. The first will involve matching usage to local consumption, and the second will allow the householder to have greater control over the use of appliances.

These two approaches are detailed below.
  1. Synchronising production and usage.
  2. Ynni Ogwen (Bethesda) have recently installed a 100kW hydroelectric generator which has the potential to provide cheaper electricity to the local community. In order to benefit from cheaper electricity, local households need to synchronise their usage to local production. This project seeks to trial technology which will provide real time information to enable this to happen.
