Investment in wood chipping machinery and loader

Caron Renewables Ltd was established in 2016 to produce a renewable form of electricity.

The business runs 4 Combined Heat & Power (CHP) plants. Each unit is powered by woodchip and has the capacity to produce 49kW of energy every hour, with around 40 kW of that energy sold to the National Grid.

The objective of the project is to reduce the main cost to the business which is wood chip. By purchasing timber and chipping their own there is considerable scope to reduce costs compared with purchasing dried wood chip.
